Michael Carmen Impaglizo, a longtime Ocean City firefighter, died Friday at age 76. Impaglizo was a longtime Ocean City firefighter and a Vietnam War veteran.
Impaglizo was born in Pittsburgh. He lived in Ocean City for many years before moving to Palermo 33 years ago, according to his obituary.
He graduated Ocean City High School in 1962, joining the United States Navy shortly after. Impaglizo served in the Vietnam war and received his honorable discharge in 1966.
Impaglizo was a firefighter in Ocean City for about 25 years before retiring in 1994. After retirement, he worked at Vaughan's Farm and Garden Center in Marmora for the past 25 years.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years Virginia (nee Behl) Impaglizo, his children — Lisa (David) Mason and Paul Impaglizo. Also surviving are his grandchildren — Justin and Taylor Mason — and sister-in-law Teresa Cancelmo.
His funeral and interment will be private. The family suggests memorial donations to Ocean City Fire Fighters Association, PO Box 593, Ocean City, NJ 08226.
